Jose Shaw Rodriguez was born in September of 1943 in Valencia, Spain. His father and mother were both artists, blessing Shaw with the fortunate of being born into an encouraging environment for his future career. Due to the artistic ambience that surrounded him, he began his training in painting at the early age of five.
Shaw was formally trained and educated. He attended the Art School in Valencia from 1960 to 1965, immediately followed by the Fine Arts School in San Carlos, Valencia from 1966 to 1973 where he received a Degree of Fine Art. Shaw finished his schooling with the National School in Paterna. During his education and training he studied under the Spanish professors Mr. Genaro La Huerta and Mr. Santiago Rodriguez.
By the time he was 30, he began to exhibit in galleries throughout Spain. He then moved on to exhibit throughout the rest of Europe in places such as Valencia, Galleria San Horge, Galeria Bachiller, Madrid, Barcelona and others.
