Pan Mossi Artwork Available at Art Leaders Gallery, West Bloomfield Michigan - 888-264-4887
Pan Mossi was born in 1968 in Shanghai, China. He fell in love with art at the age of 13 when he had the chance to enter his artwork into a contest. At that time Mossi's parents disapproved of his desire to become an artist. Despite the fact that his parents were against it, he enrolled himself in Shanghai Normal University Fine Art program. During his college years he exhibited his work with his classmates many times and was recognized for his outstanding work.
However, his family was in financial difficulties and Mossi had to put aside his dream to be an artist for a few years. He tried to work at other jobs, but ended up quitting within four months. Not being able to hold a stable job, Mossi's uncle suggested he move to Beijing to pursue his dream. His uncle saw the talent in Mossi’s art work and funded his supplies until Mossi made enough money to support himself and his family as an artist. Since then, he has been working as a contemporary artist and has done very well.
Mossi continues to explore new techniques, and believes that his career is a learning process. His painting tends to be thick with warm colors and texture creating a romantic and inviting landscape painting. The heavy palettes of his oil paintings are unique and strong, making the viewer further investigate what the artist is trying to express. His personal favorite subjects are European landscapes and his paintings have captured many fans around the world.
Mossi is currently involved in the Shanghai Artist Association and the Chinese Young Artist League. He has held countless exhibitions, such as the Shanghai Chinese Oil Painting Exhibition and the Asian Young Artist Invitation Exhibition. Mossi was nationally recognized at the 40th Anniversary for the Founding of P.R.C. He was first shown in the United States at the International Artexpo in New York in 2002. His artwork is displayed in many private collections in China, Japan, Korea, Singapore, and the United States
