“Unveiling” is a provocative image depicting a woman gracefully draped in a crimson robe. Facing the wall, her modesty seems obvious. Yet sensual tension, born of the artistic interplay of shadow and light, reveals an unspoken narrative quintessential of Asencio’s art.

Masking an aura of intrepidation, Asencio poses and engulfs his subject in pillars of darkness to create the visual drama in this work. Strong and elegant in posture, the risk of exposure is evident, yet seemingly welcome.
