    Bartolome Luzanquis Biography
Bartolome Luzanquis was born in Cajamarca, Peru, in 1963. As an adult, he moved to Piura, in northern Peru where he became an apprentice under the master artist Augusto de los Rios. After 3 years of very demanding work there, Luzanquis moved to Lima to work in the atelier of Jorge Arribasplata, a superb still life painter. He then rounded out his education by joining the studio of Ladislao Plasencki for two more years. Throughout his artistic training, Luzanquis has developed an exquisite style reminiscent of the great Dutch masters. His still life oil paintings are rich in color and texture, appearing as a window into a scene right outside the window rather than a mere painted image.

Luzanquis has had several exhibitions since 1990 and can be fine in select fine art galleries and private collections throughout the United States and Europe.
