Lia Kim (Korean) Contemporary Stylized Figurative Artist
Lia Kim was born in Seoul, Korea in 1972. She graduated from Kyung Hee University, College of Fine Arts in 1994. Raised by a teaching artist mother, she became interested in art and developed her drawing skills from a young age. After her formal training, she pursued a contemporary abstract style and staged several private exhibitions in Korea. Lia is married and has two children.
Lia Kim has always been admired for the abstract, bold contrasts of the figures she creates. She is now best known for her elongated abstract figures of her original oil paintings. With a strong sense of composition and space, combined with a flair for the dramatic, Lia is naturally lead to create striking oil paintings. Her technique involves the use of a palate knife, creating a sense of angular abstraction to her pieces.
In 2016 she exhibited for the first time at the New York Art Expo and many collectors admired her artwork. Her original oil paintings can be found on display in select fine galleries in Asia and the United States.
