Learn More About Dean Moyer

Dean Moyer was born on November 10, 1952 in Seoul, Korea. He has been a very active artist in Korea since his childhood. From the very beginning, he showed a great sensibility for art, which would end up helping him derive his personal style of painting. At the age of 9 Moyer entered the National Young Artist Competition in Seoul where he was recognized as having great talent. From there he went on to fully discover the vast world of fine art, teaching himself as he went along. Self-taught and very self-motivated, he is an artist who diligently worked on furthering his career through travel and inner exploration. Longing for inspiration, Moyer spent much of his time traveling all over the country where he realized his love for painting landscapes and abstracts.  Moyer’s artistic style is very versatile and he enjoys experimenting in many different genres from impressionism to realism and everything in between. He that feels this will give him a constant challenge to better the technique of his artwork. His painting style is clearly distinguished by the use of heavy palette knives and texture with eye-catching color. Using soft brush strokes and thick layers of paint, his paintings look and feel bold with rich, strong colors. This use of vibrancy and color contrast draws much attention to the subject of each piece.  Dean Moyer has won over 5 awards and honors in the National Fine Art Competition in Seoul, Korea and was first shown in the United States at the International Art Expo in New York in 2010. Moyer’s artwork is displayed in many private collections and select fine art galleries in China, Japan, Korea, and the United States.
